It frequently happens around here that we need a fast picture for our electronic newsletter or a printed publication. Being a photographic shop....we naturally turn to the quickest and simplest things we have. I’ve just shot three selling photos on a Canon Powershot compact using the Optex portable studio.
The Optex runs on the mains, has two curly bulbs to evenly light the product, and features a two-colour drape backdrop. When I need a white infinity scoop I just grab a sheet of printing paper and curve it in.
“A” mode on the Canon – 800 ISO – AWB –add + .3 of a stop and f: 8. Zoom, point, shoot, rush the card upstairs for inclusion into the newsletter, and there you are. Done in 4 minutes.
