So Why Do I Need One?

on November 09, 2021
When someone in a shop asks that question it can be for good or ill... If it is done to be mean there's not much you can say. It's not a real question - just a chance to be a smart aleck. If it's a genuine question the answers are a lot better. Why do you need a Haldex portable studio? You need it to take pictures of: a. Jewellery. b. Pottery. c. Artwork. d. Books. e. Scale models. f. Coins. g. Stamps. h. Figurines. i. Collectibles. And so on. You get the idea - this is a 40 cm cubic space with reflective walls and ceiling with LED strip lighting and a tny scoop backdrop system. If you have something that fits in there and it needs to be well-illuminated for a picture, this'll do it. Collectors of all sorts of things will welcome an easy way to create regular and repeatable studio shots of their items. They can use any form of camera that will focus closely - compact, mirrorless, DSLR, or video. The light that the LED's put out is adjustable - you move the light strips - and is a constant at 5500ºK. Every system should be able to produce a clean white balance, even if there is no custom adjustment in the menu. The kit also provides alternative materials for the scoop. Of course dedicated jewellery shooters will know about black and coloured velvets as well as reflective sheets. There is a real art in selecting suitable backdrops for products that will appeal to the target range of buyers for any product. The Haldex studio lets you get the core shots without lashing out on light cubes, soft boxes, strobes, or lighting tables. Not that these should be ignored for larger items - but if your bling fits, use this to shoot it. The heading image is a rather attractive piece of goods that I illustrated for the notorious " Fingers " South. We hope to fence it and a whole bag of swag over the internet. Good pictures are key to business success.
