" My Lens Is Only A Kit Lens So They Say I Need Another One..."

on July 12, 2018

Hmmmm. Let's think about this for a bit.

Your nose. That one there between your eyes. The one with the spectacles perched on it. Have a feel of it...on the outside, please...

Is it firmly attached? Does it work? Can you smell things? Good.

It's likely to be the same one you were issued with some time ago. A " kit nose ", if you will. Oh, you may have elected to change it somewhat to suit fashion - and if you have played rugby, someone else may have changed it for you on the field - but by and large it is the same beezer you got when you arrived.

It is as good as you need. It smells, sniffs, honks, and drips on occasion. You can look down it to annoy people and they can look up it to return the compliment. You can wiggle it, if you're lucky, and wrinkle it at other times. It is a perfectly good nose.

If it is not the same shape as the nose on Audrey Hepburn or Nicole Kidman, you should not let this worry you. None of your other parts resemble those of Audrey or Nicole either. And as the nose you are wearing right now appears on your driver's licence and your passport - changing it would mean more paperwork.

In short. Your nose is serving you well. If you stick it into other people's business, they might serve you right, but that is another story.

Tell " They " that you are as good as your vision and knowledge and that the kit lens may well be exactly the item you need to sniff out the good pictures. Then blow.

Note: If you'd like to buy another lens to do something that the kit lens won't physically do, that's another thing altogether. We talk lenses - talk to us. We're not " They " - we're " Us ".
