Gives you the ability to shoot at a super short flash duration of 1/6000s when plugged into the fast B channel. The S is there more standard head with a longer flash duration and is slightly cheaper. It features a 400ws system if you're running 1 head at full power or it can be distributed over 2 heads giving 66/33% giving you 266w and 133w.This is perfect for having a balanced key and fill light. Not long ago Canon announced a few new cameras for their compact range, two being the Powershot S95 and the Ixus 1000HS.
