Thinktank have release a new "Speed Convertible Range" which include V2's of their current Speed Freak, Speed Racer & Speed Demon bags.  Features include a flip-top lid that folds away from the body for rapid and convenient access to gear.  A fully padded shoulder strap with embedded non-slip material is included, which also supports the bag while in belt pack mode.  The soft kidney-shaped design contours comfortably around the body.  Built-in Modular rails allow attachment of Think Tank’s Modular, Skin or Multimedia components.Not only can you choose how to carry their bag, you can also select the right capacity between the three sizes in this series.  The smallest, Speed Demon V2.0, can carry a standard size DSLR with a standard zoom lens attached (hood reversed) and a wide angle zoom lens beside.  The medium sizeSpeed Freak V2.0 also carries a standard size DSLR with a zoom lens attached and is tall enough to accommodate a 70–200 f2.8 lens in the bag.  The Speed Racer V2.0, the most spacious of the...

Nikon is pleased to announce the release of the AF-S Nikkor 50mm f1.8G. A fast, bright, 50mm fixed focal length lens compatible with Nikon FX-format Digital SLR cameras.The AF-S Nikkor 50mm f1.8G offers the pleasing blur characteristics and three-dimensional rendering capabilities possible only with a fixed focal length (prime) lens. This particular lens also incorporates a new optical design that enables f1.8 maximum aperture utilizing an aspherical lens element, which achieves superior rendering performance for excellent image quality even when shooting in low light.The built in Silent-Wave Motor (SWM) ensures quiet autofocus operation. Dale Neill imparted some of his extensive photographic wisdom on Sunday to a group of about 15 Busselton locals.  The all day workshop was focused on studio lighting techniques and and gave people the chance to explore the wonderful world of studio portraiture.  Dale also gave important lessons on interacting with your subject and showed the importance of communication and building a rapport during the shoot.Camera Electronic was pleased to support the event, we drove down on the evening before the workshop with a van full to the brim with lighting equipment and a huge range of other photographic goodies.  From Nikon 300mm f2.8 lenses and D3 bodies to Digital Grey Cards and SteadePod's we had it all on hand for people to try out for the day.Thanks to everyone who came and made it a great day!  ...
