Godox Bean Can

The studio light in a case - for the photographer who wants light light. Pardon the punning - this Godox kit is a surprising delight on the back wall of the Stirling street shop. It is designed for the event or portable portrait worker who wants a controllable studio mono-head in the smallest possible compass. Those of us who have been heretofore using speed lights, on-camera flashes, or burning pine knots for photo illumination now have a more capable choice...in a better shape. I am not going to knock on-camera flashes too hard - the illustrations of the Godox AD 100 PRO kit were taken with a speed light in the hot shoe of the Fujifilm camera. The light was shot up into the air and then reflected onto the product with a sheet of white foam board. Good idea, but it means the camera has to be on a tripod looking a the subject. If I were chasing people instead of shop goods I would want to be holding the camera and shooting an umbrellaed flash from behind me or off a little to one side - you all know how to do this. If it were a party, wedding, or ball there might be several flashes needed and using speed lights with brackets and added wireless receivers would make for some pretty awkward setups. I could get away with a few studio mono-lights but that means AC power cords... Or I could opt for one or more of the new generation of portable studio lights like the Godox unit. Inside the tough little travelling case is a standard light stand mount, the flash head, a lithium-ion battery, and a charger for it. The camera will have a compatible Godox transmitter on it - one that is capable of commanding several channels at once. A lightweight light stand and a modifier for the flash mean that there is instant illumination that has no strings attached - one that can flash up to 360 times on one charge. One that has high speed synch and a modelling light in-built. Very small - that box illustration is a standard small hand. I'm going to stop writing good things about this flash because now I want one ...and all my fun money has gone toward hot water systems for the studio. Life can be cruel. Godox fans! Search the net for the new Godox Retro Senior flash. I haven't been this excited about a new product since the Pentax Sv!
