The Airlines Get Mean

on December 18, 2018
News is out that the major Australian airlines will start weighing your cabin baggage and restricting you to under 7 Kg - or charging you a swingeing price for extra weight. Their stated reason is to protect their cabin staff from heavy weights overhead. Their threat is that anything over this weight will get put in the hold under the bars of pig iron and sacks of gravel. I'm not gonna be cynical about the extra charges...but I can see where it will be a good idea in the future to pack light and organised. No more trying to fit the 2000mm f: 1.4 tele lens in the shopping bag and sprinting down the aisle to stuff it into three overhead lockers before the other punters get aboard. To aid this new resolve, Lowepro have brought out a rather neat folding wallet with closing buckle. The Gear Up Wrap will not take the 2000mm f:1.4 but it will enable you to make a neat parcel of computer and mobile cords, memory cards, thumb drives, USB splitters, batteries, and the myriad of other accessories was are doomed to carry since the digital revolution freed us from the need for a roll of film... It is lightweight so that it doesn't aggravate the problem, and spacious enough to take a lot of the gear that would otherwise be condemned to the aircraft hold under the crate of anvils. Plus you can haul it around on the ground to organise everything else. Fight CHAOS - enlist Lowepro.
