Canon Girt By Sea Exhibition

on October 01, 2018

In case you've dismissed vertical aerial images only in terms of black and white and looking for V1 launch sites...Canon Australia, Denis Glennon, and Tony Hewitt have something wonderful to change your mind.

The two professional photographers flew around the coastline of Australia looking out and looking down, and used Canon cameras and standard Canon lenses to record their amazing discoveries in colour. They didn't fly the Cessna Centurion III themselves - they had an expert pilot for that - but they worked closely with him in the 31 days' flying time to get the images you'll see.

Where will you see them? When will they be displayed?

Central Park Building - 152-158 St Georges Terrace, Perth. The exhibition opens on the 25th of September and runs until the 13th of October. You can visit between 10:00am - 5:30pm weekdays and 10:00am - 4:00pm on Saturdays. The entry is free.

These are not 100 little pictures - the subject is BIG - the coastline is BIG - and the talent that was expended in flying, seeing, and shooting was BIG. It is an exhibition that will amaze and reward anyone who loves Australia and art.

And some very good news - you can purchase books of the images or print for your own display. There will be full details at the exhibition or online from Tony or Dennis.

Thank you to Canon, Tony, and Dennis for this marvellous piece of vertical art. Looking down has never looked so good.
